Jennifer Cowger

Dr. Jennifer Cowger is the Section Head of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan. She also serves as the medical director of the Durable Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and is an active member of the cardiogenic shock, structural heart, HCM, amyloid and sarcoid
programs. Outside of work, Dr. Cowger is engaged with various medical societies, including the ACC, where she serves as an Associate Editor for JACC:HF (Nov 2023-present) and is on the Michigan ACC Board. She served as a deputy editor for the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation (2020-2023) and was a board member of ISHLT. In 2022, she was elected to serve on the OPTN heart transplant leadership committee, which is creating the continuous heart allocation score. She has participated in and/or led the development of key documents, including various guidelines, scientific statements and consensus documents. Finally, she is on the leadership committee of the STS-Intermacs.
