Elizabeth Swiggum
Dr. Elizabeth Swiggum is a Cardiologist, heart failure specialist and the Medical Director of the Heart Function Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation program at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. She is the Medical Chair for Heart Failure and Chronic Cardiovascular Disease at Cardiac Services BC and is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. Leading system change is a key priority occupational focus.
National contributions include the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Guidelines for Heart Failure and board member for the Canadian Heart Failure Society. She has been involved in many clinical research trials related to HF including pharmacotherapy, device therapy and stem cell treatment.
Dr. Swiggum continues to advocate for prevention of cardiovascular disease through Cardiac Services BC. She, herself, leads a very active life with past marathon running but now enjoys a variety of activities, including rest breaks.
